STORYTELLING BERBASIS MULTIKULTURAL


Abstract

Children are the future generation. As a router, a child's development should be noted that adult human beings would become a strong and responsible to himself and his surrounding community. Parents have a responsibility to educate children as a consequence of the gift of God. Parents faced with the challenge of globalization is very vigorous and growing. Various negative impacts of the above, if the continue felt in children, it is not impossible to cause moral decline. Those problems make the parents must fortify the child of a moral crisis as early as possible. One approach that can be done through the activity of parents is to tell (storytelling) or Storytelling. Storytelling is the conveying of events in words, images and sounds often by improvisation or embellishment. Stories or narratives have been shared in every culture as a means of entertainment, education, cultural preservation and in order to instill moral values. Crucial elements of stories and storytelling include plot, characters and narrative point of view. Storytelling themes can be drawn from the current atmosphere of life. Indonesia's cultural diversity should be introduced starting from now. Therefore, as early as possible multicultural we as a nation should be immediately introduced to the children. By planting early moral education, it is hoped at the time of adults, children will be able to adjust itself with the existing norms in a multicultural society. Moral values are instilled: (1) believe in the power of God, (2) believe in the providence of God, (3) humanity and society, (4) respecting others, (5) compassion, and (6) harmony.
